Candle Burning Tips: Important! Please trim the wicks of your new candle before lighting to 1/4 - 1/8 inch. This will help prevent smoking wicks and your candle will burn evenly with no problems.
Your candle needs to burn for the first time for at least 3 hours no more than 4 continuous hours. If you do not burn your new candle correctly the first time it is rare that it will ever burn right during it’s lifetime. Candles have a memory!

How do I burn the candle perfectly? The first time you burn your candle, "break it in" properly: burn your candle one hour per inch diameter of jar, up to 3 hours. For example, for a 3 1/2 -4 inch apothecary jar candle burn it for 3 continuous hours, then extinguish, and let cool. Your candle's wax now has a "memory" and will burn much better on future lightings... If your candle burns unevenly, extinguish and carefully push the wick towards the higher side, let cool, relight.·

Place candles on heat resistant surface away from anything that can catch fire. Always keep burning candles in view and never leave unattended!

Keep burning candles and matches Away from Children and Pets!·

Keep melt pool free of flammable materials including wick trimmings and matches. Never burn last 1/4" of *any* candle! Burning to the bottom presents a higher fire hazard (heat can break the container causing your flame to travel).

Do not blow "Out" your candle, instead snuff out candles (or cup your hand around candle flame to prevent any flammable material from flying out)- blowing may allow lit pieces of wick to land on something flammable.

Uneven burning is normally caused by drafts. Move candle to another location or rotate to keep burning uniform.

If candle smokes, the wick needs to be trimmed. extinguish the flame and trim to a height of 1/8" to 1/4".

Wicks mushrooming? Your candle may develop a "fragrance mushroom" - carbon buildup on the wick. This is because you have purchased a highly-scented candle. Extinguish the candle carefully, wait for the wax to cool, and then trim the wick to 1/8". Relight and enjoy.
